Yes, however when you eventually go to the 4-year university, they will re-evaluate your admission. You will be considered a transfer student. Transfer students normally have a different admission criteria from incoming freshman. Most times with transfer student admission, there is a minimum GPA requirement from all previous higher learning institutions you attended. Be sure you do well at the community college. Check with the 4-year college about what impact deferring your admission and attending a community college will have on your initial acceptance.
Best wishes!

This route is a very good one. At a jr. college you can knock out your freshmen and sophmore curriculum.
The freshmen and sophmore curriculum is general education classes that everyone has to take, regardless of your major.
In addition, once you decide on your major, then you can also knock out your “lower division coursework” for that major. For example, I’m majoring in sociology and I was able to do all my lower division course work (3 core sociology classes) at a jr college.
If you live in California, then you should definatley check out assist.org
also, familiarize yourself with IGETC= Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum because this is your map (as to what classes to take and what classes will transfer-you don’t want to waste your time taking classes that won’t transfer). You can get this one from any counseling center.
