Questions On College Admission Of New Immigrant?

Author: Rob  //  Category: College Admissions

Hi. I have moved to the United States for 1 year and I am a Senior now. The college admission stuff really stressed me out as my academic background is too complicated for my high school (there are not so many immigrants in my high school).
I’m living in California and my total gpa is 3.64 (I know it’s low but I just come here for a year..) Even worse is that I have not taken any of those hellish standardized exams (I’m planning to take SAT and ACT in November)
What am I suppose to do in order to get into 4-year college?

Take a trip to the international office of your nearest four-year college and ask them. They’re very good at this sort of thing, and they can sort out your academic record, immigration status, and all sorts of other things for you. They’ll probably do this even if you haven’t applied for admission to their school.
The standardized tests aren’t all that bad. In the United States, you can take them as many times as you want, and unlike in much of the rest of the world, your test results don’t determine your future, either in college or in life. All you have to do to study for them is to take the sample tests that they offer either on-line or in paper form, and I believe both are free.
