What Happens If I Get A Low Blood Sugar During My Sat Test Tomorrow?

I never really thought about getting accomodations for this, but now that the test is tomorrow I’m getting a little nervous. I do have some small snacks that I can keep in my pocket in case I’m feeling low, but what if someone sees me eating something? Should I tell the proctor before the test starts? or tell someone about it when I’m checking in?

Yeah, tell the proctor. Or get a doctor’s note and give it to them at the beginning of the test.
Just make sure to eat a good breakfast.

Do not risk getting hypoglycemic. Have your parents write a note explaining the situation and give it to the proctor at the beginning. If you need to eat, you are allowed by law to eat. It is imperative that you be prepared for the possibility because if your blood sugar gets too low, you could pass out and go into a diabetic coma. Good luck – and good luck on the SATs, too!

Tell the check-in person and then tell the proctor as well. They’ll probably want you to set your snack in plain sight on your desk–you sneaking your hand in your pocket for a “snack” could look suspicious. I’m sure it’ll be fine! Just take something that won’t make noise when you open it/eat it.

Bring a note from your parent telling about your condition and that you may need a lil snack to get yourself straight. That should help but next year you should get a note from your doctor and get it put in the school records so that all the teacher has to do is have the office check on it to verify your claim.

I’m sure if you let them know what the issue is, they will allow you to eat something small, like a candy or something. Try to see if you can keep it on the desk though so they can see it as well and not think you are up to something fishy! Good luck on the test!

I would tell the person in charge, that you may have low blood sugar- it should not be a problem. Eat a good protein breakfast before the test tomorrow. That is good advice for anyone. Good luck on your SAT- my daughter is taking hers tomorrow as well.

Yes, after all they are people. I would unwrap anything prior to the exam starting though to avoid embarrassing yourself with noise in a quiet room.
