I took the SAT three times and consistently went up in my scores. I started at a 2010 and went up to a 2370. Here is what I did.
I went through the collegeboard book and looked up every vocabulary word I didn’t know. There are plenty (look in passages as well).
For math, i realized that my scores shot up when I took the test backwards (from number 20 backwards to 1). When i started with the hardest questions, which are usually worth more, time seemed to be less of an issue. Try a practice test like that and see if you do any better.
For grammar, there are about 5 different rules to learn. Memorize them. In essence look for “is vs. are”, singular vs. plural etc. Take practice tests and look for patterns.
The essay: this is where you can really do well. Make sure you talk about yourself. If you can make your essay personal, you’re in. Try to use a couple of SAT words but don’t force it. Simplicity is key and answer the question directly.
    You can do it!

People say that you CAN’T study for the SAT but you can it all depends on your normal study habits. Take the extra time to read. For the subects that you’re weak in use flash cards. If you do not know exactly what to study, there are a specific SAT books at your local library that can help you narrow down what ever it is that you wish to study.

They make a “The ACT/SAT for dummies book” if i remember correctly in the book they tell you what to study and how long to study you can usually buy it used for 7$ or loan it from a library.

just take a course. they’re a lot of $ but they’re worth it and will answer these questions.
