no i just took the SAT yesterday (thank God it’s over!) and i had 3 pencils with me, and they gave me 4 additional pencils with collegeboard.com printed on it, so i don’t think there is a limit.

It would be completely insane (but funny) if they stopped you at the door and did a pencil check… “Sorry, sir… we’re gonna have to take these pencils… ” that would make a nice scene in a movie… I doubt that they would care… as long as you don’t carve random letters into the sides… they might think they’re answers lol… good luck!

Exactly what you read on the instructions….2 #2 pencils only….regular old pencils with erasers.

i dont think there is a limit on how many , but i know you cant bring pens or mechanical pencils and i think the lead number has to be No. 2 , i would bring a few extra pencils (stick them in bookbag) and maybe a(n) extra eraser , Good Luck !!!!!

I took the SAT back in October. I had at least four wooden pencils with me.
If your proctor happens to be a prick, make sure you have two long pencils, and eraser, and a pencil sharpener. I did that because I’m pretty picky with the size of the lead. Also, don’t take mechanical pencils or pens. They aren’t allowed, I think because it facilitates cheating.
