You can take the SAT at any age. Taking it at a younger age could be useful so that you have experience in taking the test and know what you are up against when you have to take it “for real.” However, remember, that once you are in 9th grade, the SAT score counts. ANd although there is a new score choice policy, some schools still want you to send EVERY score of all the tests you’ve taken past 9th grade. SO it would be wise not to take the SAT in high school until you are ready
