What Happens If I Accept Multiple College’s Offer Of Admission?

I’ve heard horror stories of people accepting admission, attending orientation, they’re all packed up, and ready to go when they get notified at the last second that they’ve been rejected.
Let’s say I get accepted to Standford and MIT. Can I accept admission to both
In other words, am I creating a binding contract when I accept admission to a school?
Unlike those people who haven’t heard that if a school accepts you, they can still reject you later if they don’t like what they see on your final transcript, I see why you would ask something like this.
Unfortunately, I don’t know the answer, but I just couldn’t let that one person slide for being so ignorant.
I’m guessing that you might be able to do that since they require that nonrefundable fee. I mean, why require it if by telling them you’re going, you have created a legal, binding contract? Sure, maybe its so they can earn extra money from those people that get rejected after they see the transcript, but those people are already going to be devastated. Why tack on that fee as extra punishment?
You could ask around at school, or check with your guidance counselor.
that makes no logical sense. you either get accepted or you don’t. what do you think these ivy leages are? babies? they don’t change their minds like that. they obviously take it seriously and clearly look through your application carefully before accepting anyone. that’s one of the most ridiculous things i’ve ever heard.
I actually don’t think that schools can do that to you. Some horror stories are total lies; my brother can attest to that [junior finals are not that scary].
And no, you can’t. There’s probably a whole legal thing to it.
I’m sorry, I don’t know much. But your question looked lonely without answers..
You misspelled Stanford.
