Does Anyone Know How Long The At-sat Test Takes. This Is The Test To Become An Air Traffic Controller?

You have up to 8 hours. There are something like 8 parts. After each part you can take a break for as long as you want and is self paced. Took me five and a half hours total including about an hour and a half for lunch and 3 15 minute breaks.
The proctors I had told us only 3 people have

failed to complete the test. One kept falling asleep and the other two had poor English skills and spent so much time trying to read the instructions and questions that they didn’t have a chance.
FYI I suggest picking up the ATC career prep by ASA by Matteson (sp?). It includes an AT SAT prep CD ROM. The thing is pretty much spot on accurate except it is much much more difficult than the real thing. If you can even barely keep up with the practice you should be great on the real thing.

  1. Kevin says:

The pre employment test is adminstered over an 8 hour period.
You must be under 31 years of age
You must have 3 solid years of work history and 4 years of college or a combo of the two.
You must complete an approved FAA training program. This is just to become eligible. If you are selected after all this, you go to the FAA academy in Oklahoma City for 12 weeks. If you check the board of labor website you should be able to find some more info there. I almost applied to be an ATC but it was going to take to much time from family. Good Luck.
