Maybe you can find out some or all of this on the school’s web site, but don’t just apply to a school without checking it out first (unless you know for some reason that it is the one and only school you are interested in attending).
One more thing to consider: many schools ask for letters of recommendation. Before you start asking people to write these letters, it would be a courtesy to them to narrow down your list of schools to ones you are really interested in.
