Correlation Between Test Scores On Sat/act And How Well Someone Actually Does In College Or In Life?

I have a mild writing learning disability that makes it difficult for me to put my ideas onto paper/computer. As a result, my ACT score in math for example was high (30) but my other scores were much lower. I have always been a very strong student capable of scoring the top grades in the classes

and have recently graduated from college *** laude.
I am wondering if there are any studies out there that show the correlation between the two.

I don’t recall exactly where I read this study–probably the Washington Post or NY Times–about the correlation between test scores and success in college. The study concluded there really is no correlation. What grades you get in high school is a much better indicator of how well you’d do in college and life, it concluded.

I just read that 50% of the employees at NASA have a learning disability including dyslexia, and that they’re considered desirable.
I think working hard is a much better indicator than whether you scored well.

The valedictorian of my senior class got a 19 or 20, I got a 25, which was the highest my senior year, and didn’t graduate in the top 10%.
As far as college goes, I’m struggling because I don’t have any study skills. The best indication of how well you will do in college is how much you try to do well.

Not sure, but I can tell you that SATs/ACTs don’t test much besides your short term memory.
I always scored higher on english/reading than math and science.
So I chose a career that doesn’t involve much math and science.
Look at Bill Gates, he didn’t even make it through college.

I don’t know about studies on the correlation of those scores and how well someone does in life, but I recall that some of the SAT/ACT material itself includes information on the correlation with success in college. I would check those materials if still handy and if not try going through the SAT or ACT websites themselves but be considerate of bias therein. Still, it would be a good start and you could follow up with searches in more independent sources.
