How Does Ucla Make Their Admission Decisions If No College/high School Transcripts Are Required When Applying?

I thought I had to send in my transcripts before applying(like i did for other universities) so that they could see my grades, but when I called the admissions office they said they didn’t required any transcripts until later I got accepted. How do they base their decisions if they can’t see my grades? is it all just in the personal statement?

There have been several recent important court decisions regarding Affirmative Action in the college admissions process.
Do you believe a person’s gender, age, race, national origin or religion should be a factor for being admitted into college?
What about law school?
Are there any circumstances under which a person’s gender, age, race, national origin or religion should be considered in the admissions process?

Would The Writing Score On The Act Test Affect College Admission Decisions Even If I Got A Good Composite?

I got a 25 composite score on the act, but I got a bad score on the ACT writing. Would this make a difference in college admissions even if I dont plan to be an english major?

What Is The Successful Way To Appeal College Admission Decisions?

Need first hand advice on how to appeal college admission decisions. Does the student do it or do the parents do it? We are on the west coast and by the time our child is out of school the east coast offices are closed. Also if you are a Hispanic what organizations can help? Is it done via email, phone or letter? Also can you appeal more than one school? What is the proper etiquette and best way to pursue getting your child into a university? This is a child with a high GPA and did above average on the SAT/ACT. Also active in school and community.

Are College Admissions Decisions Emailed As Well As Mailed?

I thought that they were only mailed, but I was watching a program yesterday that showed the seniors getting admissions answers on their cellphones.
And another thing, when colleges say that you’ll get your admissions decision BY April 1st, does that mean you could get it before April or that they’ll only post it in April? (for regular decision)
